Red Rope

December 17, 2009

Hello. This is the Beginning of our ministries first Blog. We have hundreds and hundreds of Messages from the Holy Spirit that we will be bringing online. We know Jesus talks to us still today, some people write down what He says, and these messages are an example of just that.

This site is dedicated to Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of or Lords. The name “The Scarlet Rope” was chosen because it symbolizes the hope and mercy of the Lord as well as revelation of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

What is the Scarlet Rope?

In the Battle of Jericho in the Old Testament, Rahab (a prostitute) put faith in her scarlet (red) rope hanging out of her window. A red rope that signified an agreement between herself and Jewish spies she helped them escape. This rope symbolizes today faith in Jesus Christ, a faith that is stained red with His precious blood he shed for us.

The rope itself had no significance of its own and since her house sat on the city wall a rope or cord was the only means of escape for the spies. The two Jews were instructed by Joshua to seek out information for their advantage but they became stuck when they were found out by authorities. Rahab had told them that the people of Jericho were terrified of them since they heard about the great miracles of God, about the Red Sea drying up and conquests. Also, that she knew Jericho was to be given unto the Jews so she asked for mercy.

She asked for their word that her family would be saved and they told her to leave the red rope they will escape from as a sign to save the household. When Jericho fell, Rahab and all of her family were saved! The whole city was burned and everyone killed, but her household was spared through a covenant of the scarlet cord.

We Christians have faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, that we are not saved by our own goodness but only by Gods mercy on us through Jesus’ sacrifice. The blood of Jesus was shed for our rebellion (sin) against God and He is our scarlet cord this day.

All man will find his place before our Father God, the creator of the universe. We have no ritual to explain our sins, no dance to forgive corruption, and are dead by our very own hands, but why? “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. – Romans 3:23

The Scarlet Blood of Jesus Christ is our protection and our salvation from sin. It is our faith and hope in Him alone that when the time comes, we will be saved by Gods promise in John 3:16-18…

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

The Story of the fall of Jericho

Joshua 2 NIV Translation

1 Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim. “Go, look over the land,” he said, “especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.

2 The king of Jericho was told, “Look! Some of the Israelites have come here tonight to spy out the land.” So the king of Jericho sent this message to Rahab: “Bring out the men who came to you and entered your house, because they have come to spy out the whole land.”

4 But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them. She said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they had come from. At dusk, when it was time to close the city gate, the men left. I don’t know which way they went. Go after them quickly. You may catch up with them.” (But she had taken them up to the roof and hidden them under the stalks of flax she had laid out on the roof.) So the men set out in pursuit of the spies on the road that leads to the fords of the Jordan, and as soon as the pursuers had gone out, the gate was shut.

8 Before the spies lay down for the night, she went up on the roof and said to them, “I know that the LORD has given this land to you and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. We have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you completely destroyed. When we heard of it, our hearts melted and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the LORD your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below. Now then, please swear to me by the LORD that you will show kindness to my family, because I have shown kindness to you. Give me a sure sign that you will spare the lives of my father and mother, my brothers and sisters, and all who belong to them, and that you will save us from death.”

14 “Our lives for your lives!” the men assured her. “If you don’t tell what we are doing, we will treat you kindly and faithfully when the LORD gives us the land.”

15 So she let them down by a rope through the window, for the house she lived in was part of the city wall. Now she had said to them, “Go to the hills so the pursuers will not find you. Hide yourselves there three days until they return, and then go on your way.” The men said to her, “This oath you made us swear will not be binding on us unless, when we enter the land, you have tied this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you have brought your father and mother, your brothers and all your family into your house. If anyone goes outside your house into the street, his blood will be on his own head; we will not be responsible. As for anyone who is in the house with you, his blood will be on our head if a hand is laid on him. But if you tell what we are doing, we will be released from the oath you made us swear.”

21 “Agreed,” she replied. “Let it be as you say.” So she sent them away and they departed. And she tied the scarlet cord in the window.

22 When they left, they went into the hills and stayed there three days, until the pursuers had searched all along the road and returned without finding them. Then the two men started back. They went down out of the hills, forded the river and came to Joshua son of Nun and told him everything that had happened to them. They said to Joshua, “The LORD has surely given the whole land into our hands; all the people are melting in fear because of us.”

Joshua 3 and 4 Summary

The next day the Lord stops the mighty Jordan River as soon the priests walk across it with the ark of the covenant. The Lord tells Joshua to tell His people, ‘Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.’ He had 12 men from 12 tribes place 12 Rocks in the middle of the Jordan River since the Lord dried it up for them.

In Joshua 5 and 6 you can read how Jericho was taken…

Joshua 6

22: Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute’s house and bring her out and all who belong to her, in accordance with your oath to her.”

23: So the young men who had done the spying went in and brought out Rahab, her father and mother and brothers and all who belonged to her. They brought out her entire family and put them in a place outside the camp of Israel.

24: Then they burned the whole city and everything in it, but they put the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron into the treasury of the Lord’s house. 25 But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho—and she lives among the Israelites to this day.

Excerpt from a dream I had several night ago regarding the red rope: It was windy and I really had to hold on. I thought to myself: “Mt. climbers don’t even attempt this without their ropes being anchored into the Mt. I don’t even have a rope!
I managed to slowly crawl to the top of the Mt. Then I carefully switched my body to the leeward side of the Mt. As I hugged my body into the rock and started to crawl down the face I noticed a red flat rope stretching down the Mt., closely attached to the rocky incline. I thought to myself, “this is awesome, I’ll be able to climb down faster!” I remember grabbing that rope with all my strength and not letting go regardless of how hard that wind would pull on me.

Amen, you get it. We are not without help and that red rope is not just a symbol… it is a promise that should you grab onto the Lord, no matter who you are or where your from, you will be alright. A promise or a rope as red as the blood that Jesus Christ shed for us, without cost or works, it is a gift if we would let go of our own will and grab onto His will with all our might. God is good.

He Also let me find (just tonight) another chapter of the unfinished book “The Sun Clothed Woman”, it will be worked on soon and updated when it’s perfect.

      God Bless you.

That is very interesting 🙂 As for the naming of this site, my Lord revealed that he was representative of that rope, and that it was red with his sacrifice of atonement.
